FAQ
Can you ship to Hawaii & Alaska?
We have currently suspended complete shipping to Hawaii & Alaska. You may arrange your own HAZMAT shipping from our warehouse, FOB Origin. Contact us if you would like to do this.
Does this battery have Low-Temperature protection?
Yes! The battery will prevent charging below 0°C in order to protect the cells while continuing to allow discharging. If you need to charge the battery in sub-zero temperatures, we recommend adding a heating pad that can be turned on to warm up the battery prior to charging.
What temperatures do the batteries need to be brought out of the cold?
The lowest safe storage temperature is -22°F, so any temperatures below this, you should bring them inside or add a heating pad of some sort, but keep in mind if a heating pad runs out of power and the battery falls below -22°F, damage may occur.
Does this fit into a standard “group size” battery box?
No, these batteries are just a bit too big to fit into your standard battery boxes. Many of our customers have had great luck installing into tool boxes or similar enclosures that provide protection from the elements. The metal-cased batteries are not waterproof. The Plastic 206ah battery can be installed in wet environments such as the tongue of trailers, in which case they fit great with the factory battery boxes removed.
Can I use my old Lead-Acid Charger?
This is not a simple “yes” or “no” question. If your charger has an equalize feature that exceeds 14.6v, then it absolutely cannot be used. The maximum charge current of a SOK Battery is 50 amps, so your total combined charge current may not exceed 50a * [number of parallel batteries]. You must also check the output voltages of the charger throughout a full charge cycle; if they exceed 14.6v they cannot be used. It is optimal to have an absorption voltage of 14.6v and a float voltage of 13.8. The battery isn’t totally picky regarding the float voltage, but we recommend 13.8 for optimal lifepsan. If you are limited on parameters, it is best to be on the lower-voltage side – you may sacrifice a bit of capacity, but longevity will increase significantly. Additionally, if your batteries get to a very low SOC, then they can draw more power from your charger than it is designed for leading to nuisance blown fuses & circuit breakers.
Can the battery be installed on its side?
Absolutely! With no acid or venting, this battery can be installed in any configuration except for upside-down (terminals facing down).
Who makes the SOK BMS?
The BMS is custom made by SOK battery, designed by SOK’s in-house engineers and manufactured to their strict quality control standards.
Do you offer free shipping?
We are a small mom & pop business, there are 3 of us here running this operation.
We put out a lot of money to SOK battery to buy the product, then wait a long time for transport by sea. Shipping to you has a cost, of which we cover more than ½ of anything more would make it unrealistic to carry the product at all.
Some bigger corporations offer free shipping, but they can afford to spend their profits on shipping, but that is not the case for us.
The difference is, we are nimble enough to provide excellent customer support, extended warranty (beyond what SOK offers) and, we have a phone number [(725) 258-2700], you can ring us and talk to a real person that speaks English. We ensure you are taken care of regardless of the circumstance.
What is the warranty policy, and how do I get any problems with the product fixed?
These batteries have a 7 year manufacturer warranty with an additional 3 years provided by Current Connected for a total of 10 years. If you ever have any issues with the product, please call us. Our team is on standby ready to help you. Our business relies on happy customers with working solutions, so if the battery is not working for you it is our job to provide the necessary after-sales support to turn a product into a solution. We have the faith and have done the testing to know these batteries will last a long time, and we are here for you through the entire duration of ownership.
Do I need to register for the extended warranty?
No, we track all orders as they are placed through our website database (which is regularly backed up). If you have any issues we will look up your order. If you wish to make it easier for us, have your order number handy. If not, we can certainly look your order up by name.
Can I get my battery shipped to me faster?
All lithium batteries (LiFePO4 included) must be shipped via Freight or Ground shipping. Typical delivery time in the US for in stock batteries is 5-7 business days. Lithium batteries cannot be shipped overnight, or express due to federal shipping restrictions. The USPS does not allow for batteries to be shipped to Post Office boxes (PO Box). For your shipping address, please use a street address serviceable by FedEx or UPS.

I inadvertently purchased a 206 ah SOK battery from them thinking it had a 200 amp BMS. When I discovered my mistake I called them and they quickly helped me place the order for 2 100 ah SOK’s. When they arrived one of them had 2 red caps instead of a red and a black. Again they quickly sent out replacement cap. They have been top notch every step of the way, A+ customer service. I will be ordering more parts to upgrade my RV Off grid capabilities.
